Most Dangerous Catch - Kingston

It is that time of year again. Get your crab pots out of storage, get your crab license, and then get your boats and butts out to Kingston for Olympic Yacht Clubs, "Most Dangerous Catch"!!

The event will start Friday evening with snacks and cocktails on the docks. We suggest you drop your crab pots Friday night for an all night soak so you can get a head start. We will offer you some ideas on where to drop them after you arrive. Saturday morning we will all go out in dinghy's and check the pots, take the crabs and add fresh bait.

Saturday we will collect and process the crabs, (clean and cook them). The crab feast will begin around 7:00. Besides crabs, the club will provide corn on the cob, plates, napkins, etc. The rest is potluck, so please bring a dish of your choice.

Besides crabbing we are looking into a Botchi Ball tournament on the lawn above the marina. Rumor also has it that there will be an appearance by Elvis and possible Dolly Parton.  Stay tuned for details.

  • We suggest you go to a sporting goods store:
    • Get a Washington State Crab License
    • Get a crab pot. You can get one as a kit that has line, bait traps, crab measuring device.
    • Ask if you need anything else
  • There are several people in the club that are happy to help and teach you!
  • Buy gloves if you think you might get scared!
  • We will be there on the dock to help you clean and cook the crabs as well.

We look forward to spending time this year with everyone. Slips are limited so reserve now on our website by logging in, going to "calendar", clicking on the event and then reserving. This is also a great event to come over by land yacht.
